Window replacement programme in west Glasgow

CCG Group has started a new phase of a window replacement programme for Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association in west Glasgow.

The £723,000 works package comprises the installation of 890 PVCu windows to 124 properties within a 16-week programme.

CCG is working on a supply-and-fit basis, using the company’s own Tilt & Turn window sets and the installation services of its planned maintenance division, Asset Management.

The contract continues work CCG has undertaken on behalf of the association in the area over the past decade, including multiple window and door replacement programmes, kitchen and bathroom upgrades, and boiler replacements.

Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association chief executive, James Ward, said, “At Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association, our purpose is to provide quality, safe and affordable homes and to play a wider role as a community anchor in Whiteinch and Scotstoun. Projects like this with our valued partner CCG are important because they improve the quality, comfort, and energy performance of our homes for tenants, while also supporting our longer-term commitment to investing in our communities.”

CCG’s PVCu windows are fabricated in Cambuslang. Led by the firm’s in-house manufacturing division, the window sets are said to benefit from ‘enhanced durability’ thanks to steel reinforcement. They are also Secure by Design accredited.

CCG Asset Management manager, Jim Cunningham, added, “Whiteinch & Scotstoun Housing Association has made significant investments in its housing stock in recent years, and our team, alongside CCG Manufacturing, has played a key role across various workstreams. This latest phase of activity forms part of a larger contract awarded to CCG in 2020 via Procurement for Housing (Pfh) Scotland and will see many residences benefit from our product offering, which we aim to install efficiently while minimising disruption to tenants’ day-to-day lives.”
