NFRC (National Federation of Roofing Contractors) has announced two new benefits to help member companies safeguard their people and strengthen technical competence.
Members can now gain free digital access to 16 BSI publications and benefit from fast-track healthcare with the NFRC Private Medical Insurance (PMI) scheme.
The British Standards, including BS 5534, BS 6229 and BS 8000, can be viewed and download directly from the NFRC member support area at no cost.
Richard Miller, director of membership for NFRC, said, “We know the value of BSI publications and we’ve worked tremendously hard to achieve this. Access to these resources, completely free of charge, means a cost saving for our members whilst injecting a substantial investment into their learning and professional development. This all-new member benefit is a clear demonstration of NFRC’s commitment to professionalising the roofing and cladding trade and ensuring a competent workforce.”
Bob Richardson, head of technical and training at NFRC, added, “This is a significant additional value to NFRC membership. BSI publications are frequently referenced in our sector and wider industry, and I strongly encourage all members to take advantage of the library available.”
BSI documents are designed to promote quality workmanship, compliance with UK building regulations and health & safety legislation, and consistent installation standards.
Administered by ECIS, the new PMI scheme gives NFRC members ‘rapid’ access to specialist medical support and treatment.
Richard Miller said, “NFRC is pleased to provide our members a way to protect their biggest assets – their workforce. This will not only increase productivity and reduce absenteeism, it will boost morale by giving the workforce a sense of value. ECIS has over 40 years of experience supporting businesses in the construction sector, and we encourage all members to explore the benefits of the scheme.”
Beyond accelerated treatment pathways, the scheme includes a suite of health services aimed at keeping workforces ‘engaged, productive and loyal’. Members can visit www.ecins.co.uk/nfrc for further information and to request a quote.
