TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has submitted three Applications for Matters Specified in Conditions (AMSCs) to Midlothian Council to progress the development of the new Bannock Wood neighbourhood near Bonnyrigg.

The applications outline the detailed plans for the infrastructure required to support the development, as well as a programme of grouting, and the first of the residential applications for over 360 new homes in a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom properties designed to cater to a wide range of buyers including 25% affordable two and three-bedroom, one and two-bedroom apartments, and cottage flats.

Once consents and technical approvals are in place, the first phase of construction is anticipated to begin later this year.

Pauline Mills, technical director at Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, said, “We are pleased to be able to submit our AMSC planning applications for Bannock Wood to Midlothian Council. This is a crucial step in delivering our vision to create a vibrant new neighbourhood that will significantly benefit the local community.

“We look forward to working towards a positive outcome on each of our three applications with Midlothian Council and starting construction on the first phase of homes at the development later this year.

“Furthermore, with planning consent now in place for the roundabout at Rosewell Road, ground stabilisation works in preparation for this key infrastructure improvement will begin in the next few weeks. It’s an exciting time as the vision to create a new neighbourhood at Bannock Wood progresses.”
