CHARTERED surveying specialist Bruton Knowles has expanded its foothold in Scotland following the firm’s first major public sector wins worth nearly a combined £250,000.

As part of the two tenders, Bruton Knowles will be providing the asset and insurance valuations for Dumfries & Galloway Council and annual asset valuations for Stirling Council. This follows a period of growth after opening a new hub in Edinburgh, one of 15 across the country, and the appointment of Rab Williams as senior utilities manager based in the region.

Rab said, “I am delighted to join Bruton Knowles at a truly exciting time for the firm as we expand our presence in Scotland. In my relatively short time here, the utilities and infrastructure team have demonstrated passion and dedication to our clients and continue to shine through as we deliver regulation-compliant valuation services.”

Described as skilled in areas such as project management, grid infrastructure and land acquisition, Rab is coordinating delivery of infrastructure and utility scale projects. Most recently, he worked alongside Rolls Royce in energy storage systems as a senior project manager, playing a key role in renewable energy projects. Before this, he worked for a renewable energy developer as a senior development manager, where he was responsible for a portfolio totalling nearly 650MW and led on the land acquisition and project management in Scotland.

James Bailey, managing partner at Bruton Knowles, added, “These new contract wins are a real statement of intent, strengthening our ties with the region and underlining our status as a trusted and reliable partner for public sector organisations. Looking ahead, we continue to expand team in Scotland, actively recruiting for associate or senior associate valuation surveyors.”
