COMMERCIAL property developer HFD has raised over £100,000 for good causes in Glasgow and the surrounding area on the back of its sell-out golfing fundraiser.
The event was organised by The HFD Charitable Foundation and saw 36 teams compete at Gleneagles across three championship courses. Winners included a range of Scottish businesses in construction and property, such as FMS Fire and Security (King’s Course team champion); Michael Laird Architects (Queen’s course team champion); and Minster Cleaning (PGA course team champion).
Steven Leiper from Atlas Group scooped the individual King’s course prize, while Lauren Meldrum from Turner and Townsend took first place on the Queen’s course, and David Kelly of Firelink Protection won the individual prize for the PGA course. Michael Brown from CBRE won the social media #HFDCharityGolf photo contest.
Players from Woolgar Hunter Engineers, Gleeds, Gardiner & Theobald (G&T), Triangle and Atelier Ten also took part.
This year’s event was HFD’s most successful to date, with the £105,911 total representing the highest sum raised since the event was first held 13 years ago.
Proceeds from previous events have been shared amongst a range of charities, including the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, who used the donation to purchase ventilators for the Princess Royal Maternity Neonatal Unit.
