TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland has acquired land at Gilmerton Station Road in Edinburgh ahead of plans to deliver 134 new homes.
The proposal for Farrier Fields includes the provision of 100 two, three, and four-bedroom properties, as well as 34 affordable homes offering a mix of two and three-bedroom terraced and semi-detached houses together with the associated infrastructure.
The land at Gilmerton South forms the final phase of a masterplan development to deliver almost 1,000 new homes, which was granted Planning Permission in Principle (PPiP) in 2016. Taylor Wimpey said its application for Approval of Matters Specified by Condition (AMSC) will build on the outline design framework, integrating the proposed new development with the existing housing near the site boundaries.
A planning decision is expected within the next few weeks from The City of Edinburgh Council.
Taylor Wimpey explained there are ‘significant’ areas of open space which will be retained and improved for the use of residents, and the firm will connect into the existing sustainable urban drainage system (SUDS) to manage surface water.
