FAKRO GB is to highlight its range of roof windows and roofing accessories at next month’s Ecobuild exhibition in London.
Among products on display will be what is described as “the world’s most thermally efficient product currently available”, the quadruple-glazed FTT U8 Thermo with a U-value of 0.58W/m2K.
The company said it will also place heavy emphasis on key aspects of design which improve aesthetics and functionality. “Use of close-grain, knot-free redwood pine, for example, provides the clearest visual distinction against competitors’ products. The company’s lamination techniques, double vacuum process treatment and three-coat matt lacquer finish are facets of design and manufacturing for which Fakro set the industry standard.”
All FAKRO window designs have had operating handles in the base of the sash for several years, enabling an automatic vent to be positioned in the top of the frame. That results in a glazing area up to 10% larger while guaranteeing air management without unnecessary heat loss. Less immediately noticeable factors include a patented system of burglary protection, use of warm spacers to minimise risk of thermal bridging and BBA accreditation.
“Products of particular interest include windows in conservation style, all of which can be installed low within the roof line, and a wide range of white PU-coated pine and PVC windows for high humidity areas,” added the company’s spokesman. “The FGH-V balcony window also provides the ultimate example of design excellence, with two sashes in a single frame and balustrades which are completely hidden when the window is closed.”
