A total of fourteen 18-tonne vehicles of rubble is being excavated from the site of Glasgow’s Union Corner fire, the city’s local authority has revealed.

Work is continuing to clear the site, following the demolition of the 175-year-old building which was left critically damaged following the March 8 fire.
Structural engineers are also working on a design solution to make sure the gable wall attached to the nearby Central Hotel is safe.
