Build of £88m Fife School ‘progressing rapidly’

Pupils on a site visit

AN £88 million Passivhaus high school being built in Inverkeithing is to open in 200 days with work ‘progressing rapidly’, Fife Council has said.

BAM is leading the build of the new Caledonia High School, with hub East Central Scotland delivering the project, which got underway in July 2024, on behalf of the local authority.

The new school, which will replace Inverkeithing High School, will have capacity to accommodate 1,735 pupils, over three floors, with an open ‘see and be seen’ approach throughout the school.

Featuring fully accessible and flexible indoor and outdoor spaces for learning, the school will support interdisciplinary learning and link subjects together. The assembly hall will have capacity for 350 pupils and the site will have a mixture of all-weather pitches and multi-use games facilities.
