CLARK Contracts has celebrated health and safety excellence within the business by holding the firm’s annual health and safety awards ceremonies.
Two events took place – one in east and one in the west of Scotland – hosted by the Paisley-based contractor’s health, safety, environment and quality (HSEQ) manager.
The events provide an overview of the company’s health and safety performance over the past year to project teams, highlighting examples of best practice and any common issues.
Prizes were presented to the project teams and individuals recording the highest compliance rates in their site audits throughout the year, and to those who go beyond the minimum standards by implementing innovative techniques.
The Project of the Year accolade went to the team delivering 250 St Vincent Street, Glasgow. This project involves the refurbishment of a former office building to provide new student accommodation. The initiative was selected due to demonstrating a high level of compliance in all areas of health, safety, environment and quality management, along with beyond compliance initiatives. The project is being delivered in a logistically challenging city centre site.
The Contracts Manager of the Year award was presented to a senior contracts manager from the refurbishment division who achieved the highest compliance rate across 13 projects.
Clark Contracts revealed that it places healthy and safety at the core of the business, and in 2025 the company was presented with a fifth consecutive Order of Distinction award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) following 19 Gold Medal awards.
