RIVERSIDE Scotland has announced completion of its first major retrofit project in Pennyburn, Kilwinning, just in time for Christmas.
The works, delivered in partnership with Glasgow-based Union Technical, have transformed 30 homes. The project included the installation of new windows and doors, new roofs, solar panels, and both external and cavity wall insulation.
The improvements are designed to reduce energy consumption, lower energy bills, and support Scotland’s net zero targets.
Tenants are already feeling the benefits. Eileen Kerr said, “It’s night and day – what a difference! My home feels so much warmer and looks fantastic. The works have transformed the properties and given the area a real facelift. I can’t wait to enjoy a cosy Christmas in what feels like a new house.”
Stephen McCarthy, asset operations manager at Riverside Scotland, said, “Completing these works ahead of the festive season means our tenants can enjoy a warmer, more comfortable home this winter. Our partnership with Union Technical reflects our commitment to improving energy efficiency and reducing costs for our customers while contributing to Scotland’s sustainability goals.
“We’d also like to thank our landscaping contractor, ID Verde for fitting in some pre-Christmas pruning to ensure the cul-de-sacs were tidied up at as we wind up the contract.”
Chris Cogan, construction director at Union Technical, added, “We’re proud to have delivered these upgrades in partnership with Riverside Scotland. Seeing the positive impact on tenants’ lives is what drives us – especially at a time when energy costs are a concern for many households.”
