JOHN Sisk & Son (Sisk) has completed the acquisition of Farrans Construction, in a move it says will unlock new opportunities for delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.

Dublin-headquartered Sisk reached an agreement in September to acquire Farrans, with all legal and regulatory requirement for the acquisition now being completed, following Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) approval last month.

Sisk said that the Farrans business, which is headquartered in Belfast and has over 600 employees, will continue to trade under its own brand and all project operations will continue as normal.

The firm added, “The coming together of these two successful contracting businesses will unlock new opportunities for delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK and Ireland.”

Sisk acquired Farrans from the building materials provider CRH and said that the consideration will not be disclosed.
