THE Fife House Builders Forum recently came together in its 20th year at the newly opened Fife College Conference Centre in Dunfermline.
Attracting over 100 delegates from across the housing sector, attendees included housebuilders, housing associations, local authority representatives, consultants, and key stakeholders – all united to address the urgent challenges posed by the housing emergency and explore opportunities to deliver high-quality homes in Fife and beyond.
Opening the event, councillor David Ross, leader of Fife Council, welcomed the continued investment from housebuilders in delivering quality new homes to meet housing needs across Fife. He said, “The housing emergency requires coordinated action. The forum demonstrates the strength of partnership across the industry and our determination to remove barriers and deliver the homes that communities need.”
Pam Ewen, head of planning at Fife Council, added, “The council will continue to work closely with housebuilders and partners to ensure progress on housing targets and to support sustainable growth across the region.”
Speakers from Fife Council, the Scottish Government, and private industry delivered presentations on overcoming obstacles to housing delivery – including planning constraints, infrastructure requirements, and market and legal challenges. The forum provided platform for collaboration and networking, reaffirming the shared commitment to accelerating the delivery of quality homes across Fife, the local authority added.
