A purpose-built care home, delivered by a joint venture comprising Morrison Community Care and CCG (Scotland), has been completed at Greenlaw Mains, Penicuik.
Glencorse Care Home is designed to meet the needs of older people in the community. The facility has been sold to a national operator and will deliver residential, nursing, and dementia care services. It is set to support up to 54 residents, while also creating up to 100 jobs.
The home is said to combine ‘first-class’ clinical support with a welcoming environment that promotes independence and dignity. Each resident will have their own en-suite bedroom and access to integrated amenities including dining rooms and visitor’s café served by professionally trained chefs, as well as a hair salon, cinema room, champagne bar, private family spaces, and landscaped gardens.
Paul Sokhi, MD of Morrison Community Care, said, “We are incredibly proud to mark the completion and sale of the Glencorse Care Home. For Morrison Community Care, the priority is always the resident – creating home-like spaces that enhance comfort, safety, and quality of life. This facility will help address the growing demand for care in Penicuik and surrounding areas, while also creating lasting benefits for the local economy through job creation.
“With projects under construction across the length and breadth of the United Kingdom, I am extremely proud of what Morrison Community Care is achieving at both a national and local level. We are delivering real change in the care sector, and for this project and those we have delivered across Scotland in recent years, I extend my thanks once again to our much-valued delivery partners CCG (Scotland), Holmes Miller, Design Me, Cowal Design, and CRGP Surveyors.”
David Wylie, MD of CCG (Scotland), added, “Glencorse represents the continuation of a hugely successful partnership with Morrison Community Care. Our combined expertise has helped deliver over 400 beds across seven truly state-of-the-art facilities to date, with an additional two completions anticipated before the end of the year and a further two developments are onsite. These remarkable numbers have been achieved through a combination of a forward-thinking approach to land acquisition and the strength of CCG’s capabilities, with the extent of our in-house services enabling us maintain the highest quality standards while delivering each project on time and within budget.”
