PROPERTY service contractor Bell has acquired Paisley-based McDermid Decorators, which will continue to trade under its existing name and structure.
Bell revealed that painting and decorating has always been at the heart of the firm’s story. This acquisition is designed to strengthen the company’s future in this work stream while honouring and protecting the McDermid legacy.
Originally established in 1973, under the name of Ronald J McDermid Limited, McDermid Decorators evolved to primarily focus on the new build housing sector.
Craig Bell, chief executive at Bell, said, “This is an important acquisition, and I am delighted that it allows us to achieve so much. For Bell, we began life as a painting and decorating contractor, and this strengthens our position even further across the central belt of Scotland.
“It also means we protect the future of McDermid Decorators, which is widely known and respected. Our two businesses hold a deep commitment to quality, service and craftmanship and we are very proud to work together to deliver the highest standards of work for customers.”
Lynne Dolan, office manager at McDermid Decorators, added, “McDermid Decorators has always been like a second family to me. Some of us, myself included, have been here over 35 years – we’ve grown up together. I’m proud of everything we’ve built and I’m looking forward to continuing my journey as part of Bell.”
