Appeal after building supplies set on fire in Rutherglen

DETECTIVES are appealing for information after building supplies were set on fire in Rutherglen.

At around 9:35pm on October 7, police received a report of materials on fire at Stonelaw Lane in Rutherglen.

Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no injuries but the fire is being treated as wilful.

Detective constable Ross Meldrum, of Lanarkshire CID, said, “We are appealing to anyone that may have saw anything suspicious that evening to get in touch.

“Anyone with doorbell or dash-cam footage should check to see if they have captured anything.

“If you have information, contact 101 quoting reference 3481 of 7 October or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
