CLANCY Consulting has announced it has relocated its Glasgow operations to 146 West Regent Street, a C-Listed building in the city centre.

The move marks a milestone for the engineering consultancy, which has had a presence in the city for 15 years. The company previously occupied 310 Vincent Street, a space described as being no longer suitable for its growing team.

The new office is situated in a three-storey townhouse built circa 1835. The building has an EPC A rating and is said to have been carefully adapted into a ‘modern, sustainable workspace’ by the landlord, Stelmain. The Georgian-era building preserves many of its period features, including scrolled cast iron railings and the original lamps at the entrance.

Clancy’s Glasgow office is led by director Gordon Megahy, alongside a senior team including Gordon Hunt, divisional director for civil & structural engineering, and Wendy Thomson, associate leading the timber engineering specialism. In the next five years, the company plans to expand its current headcount – with space to double in size within the new office.

Gordon Megahy said, “Relocating to West Regent Street in the heart of the city centre is a new chapter for the business and our people in Glasgow. This new location provides us with excellent opportunities to build a stronger community with our industry partners, host our clients, continue growing our services across multiple sectors and bring in more talent as we expand our offering.”

Gordon Hunt added, “The new office reflects the modern, collaborative way we work while keeping us rooted in the Glasgow’s history. Our team is already delivering an expansive portfolio of work and this move ensures we have the facilities and space to grow, innovate, and continue providing the highest level of engineering expertise we are known for.”

Clancy Consulting has nine offices across the UK.
