Procast Group delivers Hamilton affordable housing project

Alness Street, Hamilton

PROCAST Group has completed a development of 12 new flats in Hamilton’s Alness Street, on behalf of West of Scotland Housing Association (WSHA).

Providing affordable homes for social rent close to the town centre, the site of two-bedroom apartments – now named Mitchell Court – is said to address an identified housing need in the area.

The project has delivered homes equipped with sustainable features, including solar panels and EV-enabled parking spaces. A communal garden has also been incorporated.

Derek Innes, MD of Procast Group, said, “We are delighted to see the completion of this development, which holds special significance for us as it sits right next to our offices. These 12 high-quality homes are designed to be warm, energy-efficient, and future-proof, offering much-needed affordable housing in the heart of Hamilton. A beacon of what we can do. Working closely with West of Scotland Housing Association has been a fantastic experience, and we are proud to have delivered a project that will make a lasting impact in the community.”

Karen Shaw, director of development and asset management at WSHA, added, “The completion of Mitchell Court marks another step forward in our ongoing commitment to providing high-quality homes in Hamilton and in our communities across South Lanarkshire. The project was supported by South Lanarkshire Council and with £1.54 million of Scottish Government grant funding. We’re pleased to be able to offer out tenants more housing options in this bustling town centre location, whilst strengthening our community presence.

“We are pleased to have collaborated with Procast Group on this development and appreciate their dedication in delivering a high standard of work. We look forward to seeing the positive impact these homes will have on our tenants.”
