GRAHAM + Sibbald has announced the promotions of Michael Gill and Calum McKenzie to director.
Michael joined Graham + Sibbald in 2016 as a graduate surveyor, working his way up to associate in 2021 and now director.
With almost 10 years of experience in the industry across the central belt, the firm said Michael can assist the partners and other directors in the growth of the Edinburgh office. In addition to this, his passion for property and experience ensures that he delivers the ‘highest levels’ of service to his clients, it added.
Calum joined Graham + Sibbald as a senior surveyor within the residential department in January 2023. He was later promoted to associate in April 2024. With over seven years of experience in the industry on top of being born and raised in Edinburgh, the firm said that Calum’s knowledge of the city’s property market is ‘extensive’.
Both Michael and Calum specialise in residential valuation and carry out a number of surveys on a daily basis for the purpose of home reports, mortgage valuations, EPC’s, and more.
Chris Hunter, partner at Graham + Sibbald, commented, “Congratulations to both Calum and Michael on their promotions to Director level. They have been at the forefront of the continued growth of the Edinburgh residential department, particularly over the last 12 months, and we look forward to them continuing to drive the business forward.
Elsewhere, Graham + Sibbald also announced the promotion of Murdo McAndrew to associate.
Murdo joined the firm in 2018 as a graduate surveyor and later passed his APC in May 2023. Prior to joining Graham + Sibbald, Murdo gained a BA (Hons) in business management and worked in brand management and marketing.
Deciding this wasn’t the career path for him, he went back to university and achieved a masters in real estate. Completing this whilst working at Graham + Sibbald allowed him to gain real world insight and put theory into practice.
Recently, Murdo has been supporting graduates across all services and offices at Graham + Sibbald by starting up quarterly graduate workshops. The workshops include APC training, business development tips, talks from guest speakers, and networking opportunities.
Ross Wilson, partner at Graham + Sibbald, commented, “Murdo is an asset to our team in Edinburgh and we are all delighted for him. It has been great to see Murdo step up to the plate since being Chartered to assist in bringing in more work and guide our graduates. Well done Murdo on your promotion, it is very well deserved!”
