THE Electric Heating Company (EHC) claims to have gone back to basics with the launch of its latest boiler, which has been deliberately kept ‘simple and cost effective’.
The new Comet System boiler is an updated version of the firm’s best-selling Comet PV. The solution is tipped to be popular with homeowners looking for ‘simplicity over sophistication’.
“More features don’t automatically make for a better installation,” said David Barrett, chief executive of Blantyre-based EHC. “It’s worth asking: are we making heating more complicated than it needs to be? That’s worth considering as heating systems keep getting more sophisticated, packed with extra controls, functions and settings meant to boost flexibility and efficiency.”
While that will suit certain applications, when it comes to a lot of standard domestic jobs, EHC said it can add unnecessary complexity in the form of more components to juggle, more connections to make, and more time spent commissioning. EHC has addressed those issues with the Comet System, an electric boiler that is up to £210 cheaper than the Comet PV.
“That doesn’t mean cutting corners on performance or quality, though,” said Barrett. “It just means focusing on what actually matters: a reliable product, a straightforward install, and heating that does exactly what homeowners expect it to, all backed up with EHC’s great pre and post-sales support.
