TAYLOR Wimpey West Scotland has been granted planning permission by East Ayrshire Council to deliver 134 new homes in Kilmarnock.

A programme of infrastructure and construction work is already underway. The Lairds Gardens site will offer a selection of two, three, and four-bedroom homes. The development will also feature public open spaces, including a central courtyard and a play area.

Following the lead developer’s confirmation of a Section 75 legal agreement with East Ayrshire Council, the project forms part of a wider agreement that will provide a range of community benefits, including contributions towards a green infrastructure project and local transport infrastructure improvements in Kilmarnock.

Martin Findlay, technical director at Taylor Wimpey West Scotland, said, “We are very pleased to have secured planning consent from East Ayrshire Council, which allows us to return to Kilmarnock to deliver an impressive choice of new homes for prospective house-hunters. All technical consents are in place and the Section 75 agreement has been concluded between the lead developer and East Ayrshire Council, and I am pleased to confirm that our programme of work to be able to provide a development of this scale is already underway.

“We intend to launch the first new homes for sale at Lairds Gardens later this year. As well as providing substantial community benefits, this marks a significant step in our planned return to Kilmarnock and demonstrates our commitment to continue investing in the local area.”
