CLARK Contracts is celebrating having raised over £30,000 for its charity partner, SAMH (Scottish Action for Mental Health).
The main contractor has supported SAMH since 2020 and formally launched its fundraising partnership with the charity in June 2022. Since then, employees across the business have delivered a wide range of initiatives to raise both vital funds and awareness for mental health services across Scotland.
The £30,000 total has been achieved through a variety of activities including raffles, bake sales, annual Halloween dress-up events, sports-themed office fundraisers, the Glasgow Kiltwalk, and Tough Mudder, alongside the company’s flagship Spring Classic cycling event, which has become a key fixture in its fundraising calendar.
Recent activity includes a World Cup-themed fundraising event raising £1,000 and the 14th annual Spring Classic at Loch Katrine, which brought together over 50 participants from across the construction industry and raised a further £3,000.
Funds raised by Clark Contracts have supported SAMH’s work across Scotland, including responding to requests for help and advice, supporting young people through life skills programmes and contributing to suicide prevention research.
Gordon Cunningham, MD of Clark Contracts, said, “We are proud to have reached the £30,000 milestone in support of SAMH. Mental health is an issue that affects individuals, families and communities across Scotland, especially in our industry, and our employees have shown fantastic commitment in supporting this partnership.”
“From large-scale events like our Spring Classic to team-led initiatives across the business, it has been inspiring to see colleagues come together to raise both vital funds and awareness. We look forward to continuing our partnership with SAMH and supporting the important work they deliver across Scotland.”
Chris Docherty, account manager at SAMH, added, “We are incredibly grateful to Clark Contracts for reaching this fantastic milestone. Their continued commitment, creativity and enthusiasm in supporting SAMH has made a real difference, helping us to provide vital mental health support to people and communities across Scotland. Partnerships like this play a key role in enabling us to continue our work and create meaningful change.”
SAMH delivers services in communities across Scotland, including supported accommodation, care at home, employability services, counselling and national campaigns focused on suicide prevention and young people’s mental health.
Clark Contracts’ continued fundraising reflects its commitment to supporting communities and promoting positive mental health, while engaging employees across all areas of the business.
