THE CCG Group has started work on a multi-million-pound window and door replacement programme in the southside of Glasgow.
On behalf of Linthouse Housing Association, CCG will install some 1,800 windows and 692 flat entrance door sets for residences across the Linthouse area.
The two-lot contract is designed to help future-proof the association’s tenemental housing stock and has benefited from £3.7 million grant funding support from the Scottish Government.
CCG said the new energy-efficient windows and fire-rated doors have been specified to improve energy performance as well as tenants’ security and safety.
A mix of double and triple-glazed vertical sliding sash windows from Victorian Sliders have been specified for the contract. The window style is in-keeping with the surrounding area’s built heritage, but rather than using timber, the principal material is PVCu, described as a ‘highly durable’ form of thermoplastic that is not prone to weathering or rot.
The new FD30 flat entrance door sets are supplied by CCG. Fabricated using solid timber, the door leaf and frame are assembled at the firm’s Cambuslang HQ before being installed by its in-house team of tradespeople. Each door is BM Trada and Q Mark certified and will offer a 30-minute fire performance rating.
