Housebuilder marks key milestone in new Barrhead development

Cala breaks ground at Aurs Meadows in Barrhead

CALA Homes (West) has broken ground on its latest East Renfrewshire development, Aurs Meadows in Barrhead.

The site, located on Balgraystone Road, will comprise 221 homes, including a mix of two and three-bedroom terraced properties, three and four-bedroom townhouses, three-bedroom semi-detached homes, and four and five-bedroom detached homes.

The development forms part of East Renfrewshire Council’s ‘Barrhead South Strategic Development Opportunity’ in its local development plan. The site will also include a new neighbourhood centre and Network Rail will be building a new train station, adjoining the site.

Each home at Aurs Meadows will feature air source heat pump technology. The development will also include EV charging provisions and ‘ample’ green space along with dedicated play areas.

Suzanne McElhiney, sales and marketing director at Cala Homes (West), said, “Our Aurs Meadows development sees our commitment to building more homes in East Renfrewshire where we have seen high demand at our Newton Mearns development. Aurs Meadows will feature impressive quality of design in a wide range and variety of homes with energy-efficiency features, something which is at the top of many homebuyer’s agenda, along with community centric amenities. We expect this new development, once launched, to garner a lot of interest.”
