Over 100 local firms attend Ardrossan Campus meet the buyer event

OVER 100 local firms attended a recent meet the buyer event to find out about opportunities on the build of the new Ardrossan Campus.

Main contractor Morgan Sindall hosted the event at the Ardrossan Civic Centre, with a total of 138 local organisations attended to hear about opportunities on the North Ayrshire Council project.

Stuart Parker, Morgan Sindall Construction Scotland MD, said, “The meet the buyer event allowed us to showcase Morgan Sindall’s commitment to local businesses and community wealth building. It was great to have such a good turnout for it, with 138 local organisations joining us at Ardrossan Civic Centre. This is a testament to the strong interest and potential for local SMEs, businesses, sole traders, and social enterprises to be part of this transformative Ardrossan Campus project.

“This event is just the beginning of our journey in delivering a state-of-the-art educational facility that will serve the community’s learning needs while boosting local economic growth.”

Councillor Tony Gurney, cabinet member for green environment and economy at North Ayrshire Council, added, “A huge thanks to everyone who attended the event and we hope it could be the start of your involvement in this really exciting project for Ardrossan and North Ayrshire. We are really looking forward to working with Morgan Sindal, and potentially some other local organisations, over the coming weeks and months.”

The Ardrossan Campus site is currently undergoing extensive remediation and construction of the new campus will not begin until next year. The new facility will comprise early years, primary and secondary school with additional support needs.

The facility will also include a library, learning hub and indoor sports facilities including swimming pool, sports hall, gymnasium, dance studio & fitness studio, outdoor sports facilities including two sports pitches and a multi-use games area. There will also be an outdoor learning landscape, recreational and growing spaces, along with associated parking and infrastructure.
