HILTON has announced plans to bring its Spark brand to Scotland for the first time, with a new 53-room hotel in Dunfermline.

Signed in partnership with SMAR Hotels, the hotel will undergo a refurbishment before opening later this year, offering dining spaces, meeting facilities and guest parking.

The news comes as Hilton accelerates the wider UK expansion of its ‘premium economy’ brand, signing a further 10 Spark by Hilton hotels through a strategic agreement with AG Hotels Group. The agreement will add 672 rooms across Cardiff, Coventry, Derby, Doncaster, Hull, Peterborough, Runcorn, Sunderland, Wakefield and Washington, with openings expected between late 2026 and 2028.

Paul Blackmore, VP, development, UK & Ireland, Hilton, said, “These signings underline the strength of demand for Spark by Hilton we are seeing from owners across the UK.”

Launched in 2023, Spark by Hilton continues to expand its presence across Europe and the Middle East, with recent announcements marking further growth in Italy and Spain, alongside the brand’s debut in Saudi Arabia. Worldwide, Spark by Hilton now has over 275 open hotels, with more than 200 properties in the development pipeline.
