LOVELL has scooped the prestigious health and safety award from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) for the 20th consecutive year.

The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards recognise organisations for their unwavering commitment to protecting lives and signifies a commitment to excellence.

Lovell explained that it aims to go beyond merely complying with current legislation, striving instead to achieve industry best practices, reflecting senior management’s commitment to doing the right thing by prioritising health and safety above all else.

In line with this commitment, Lovell added that it is dedicated to continuous improvement in safety practices. The company implements initiatives, including enhanced collaboration with subcontractors and innovative training methods to keep staff actively engaged in safety protocols.

William Lindsay, health, safety, and environmental manager at Lovell in Scotland, said, “At Lovell, health and safety is at the heart of everything we do and we’re proud to have our commitment recognised once again. We have an open-door policy that allows staff and subcontractors to freely approach management to discuss health and safety and raise any concerns.

“This fosters an environment where employees feel empowered to share their opinions and actively participate in creating a safe workplace. At Lovell, we firmly believe that the engagement of all staff in the management of health and safety is essential to maintaining a secure working environment.

“The RoSPA awards are widely acknowledged as the gold standard for workplace safety in the UK. Receiving their top accolade for the twentieth year in a row is a significant achievement that reflects the hard work and dedication of the whole team.”

Julia Small, RoSPA’s achievements director, added, “Workplace accidents don’t just pose financial risks and operational disruptions; they significantly impact the quality of life for individuals. This is why acknowledging and rewarding excellent safety performance is vital.

“We congratulate Lovell for again winning the prestigious RoSPA Award and showing an unwavering commitment to keeping employees, clients and customers safe from accidental harm and injury.”

Lovell is currently building new homes across Scotland, including mixed-tenure developments in South Queensferry, Dalkeith, Hamilton, and Winchburgh.
