SKANSKA has been ranked by business magazine Forbes as one of the world’s best employers for the third year running.

The ‘World’s Best Employers’ list is based on surveys with more than 300,000 employees working for multinational companies and institutions in over 50 countries.

Anders Danielsson, group CEO and president of Skanska, said the ranking confirms the business provides a ‘dynamic’ workplace where people can learn, develop and make a difference.

“It reflects the work we have been doing to attract and retain the best people and teams in the industry,” he revealed. “From talking with colleagues around the Skanska world, I have seen that what we do has a direct impact on the well-being of our teammates and on our business performance.”

Those interviewed were asked whether they would recommend their company to family or friends, and to rate their employer based on criteria such as work-life balance, career advancement opportunities and employee diversity.

The results are confirmed by Skanska’s annual employee survey. Therese Tegner, executive VP for HR at Skanska Group, added, “The pride that our people have in working here shines through in our survey, with 85% saying they are proud to work here. Our people, working in exceptional teams that deliver outstanding performance, are a business advantage for us at Skanska and for our customers.”

Skanska UK president & CEO Katy Dowding commented, “Colleagues often tell me how working at Skanska is different to other places. There’s a lot that contributes to that – being able to perform at your best because you can truly be yourself, having a good work-life balance, knowing you’re going to be supported when you’re facing personal challenges, being empowered to speak up and make change happen when its needed – and of course – have a successful career making a long-lasting difference to society through our projects.”

The survey was conducted by market research company Statista.
