A plan for managing coastal erosion in Kingston is to be put on show at a Moray Council drop-in event next week.
The project, which is being funded by the Scottish Government, will see a 500mm high shingle built between Lein Car Park and the main shingle ridge lagoon. A new coastal monitoring station will also allow residents to use their phones to take photos of the coastline, helping monitor changes over time.
Moray Council, Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) and NatureScot will be at the session between 3pm and 6.30pm on Wednesday October 23, at Garmouth and Kingston Golf Club.
Chair of the economic development and infrastructure services committee, councillor Marc Macrae, said, “Community engagement is vital as we tackle the challenges of coastal erosion and flooding. This drop-in event is an opportunity for residents to voice their views, share ideas, and learn about the solutions being put in place to protect coastal communities across Moray.”
