Viridis building, West of Scotland Science Park

DEVELOPER Speyroc has started construction work on the latest building at West of Scotland Science Park in Glasgow.

Scheduled for completion early next year, the Viridis building will provide office and lab space designed to meet the needs of start-up life sciences and tech companies. It will provide space from 4,250 to 17,300 sq ft over two floors, with a ‘striking’ double height reception area.

58 parking spaces, including EV charging, will be available, with external zones designated for plant and storage. The building offers upgradeable power and servicing options.

The Park is described as one of Scotland’s most significant centres for research and development. Viridis is the latest addition to the 61-acre fully serviced site, which is set in landscaped grounds on the banks of the River Kelvin.

Speyroc owns the majority of West of Scotland Science Park and has delivered ten new builds and refurbishments there to date.

The joint letting agents for Viridis are Cushman & Wakefield and Colliers.

Alexander Haig, MD at Speyroc, said, “Our focus is to create great space in a fantastic environment, supporting companies arriving, growing, and evolving at West of Scotland Science Park. Viridis takes all our experience to date and delivers the quality and flexibility which we know the life sciences market requires.”

Sandra Dunlop, West of Scotland Science Park manager, added, “Glasgow is an exceptional location for life sciences companies due to its wide talent pool and science community. West of Scotland Science Park is a focal point for this community and Viridis is the next opportunity to be part of it.”
