SCOTTISH facade specialist Vivalda has concluded a deal with brands Wraptite and Secolite to distribute their breather membranes and cement boards, respectively.
By combining vapour permeability and airtightness in a self-adhering membrane, Wraptite is said to offer a ‘fast and effective’ solution to unplanned air leakage and its effects on energy performance. With an Sd-value of just 0.039m and BBA certification for a range of wall and roof constructions, this air barrier solution can be employed on projects from domestic scale timber frame to large steel framed high-rise.
Secolite is an A1 fire rated, lightweight board made of Portland cement, aggregates and other inert materials, reinforced on both sides with embedded glass fibre. Designed specifically for light steel frame (LSF) systems, these products are described as the ‘ideal’ solution as a substrate board to be plastered directly or for a weather-resistant ventilated facade system. Secolite does not require power tools or dust extraction to install.
Wes Hague, commercial director of Vivalda Group, said, “As Scotland’s premier distributor of high performance, non-flammable rainscreen façades, our mission is to make life simple for contactors and developers alike. While our off-site ‘cut-to-size’ service is hugely popular with installers keen to minimise waste and maximise efficiencies, our new relationships with Wraptite® and Secolite® take that concept a step further, enabling contractors to order everything they need for the project from a single, trusted source.”
