Duraproducts announces sole distribution agreement with TCS Geotechnics

Plastic kerb

DURAPRODUCTS has announced a new sole distribution agreement with provider of specialist geotechnical products for construction and civil engineering industries, TCS Geotechnics.

The arrangement applies to Duraproducts’ award-winning lightweight, recycled, and recyclable kerbing unit, Durakerb.

Manufactured from a blend of polymers with 88% recycled material, Durakerb is described as an environmentally friendly kerbstone which incorporates thousands of tonnes of plastic waste which may otherwise be harmful to the environment.

In addition to promoting the maintenance and growth of a circular economy in which waste polymer materials are treated as a resource, Duraproducts said that Durakerb also offers ‘several practical advantages’ over traditional kerbing solutions.

The firm explained that this includes a ‘significantly’ lighter product weight, thereby reducing the risk of manual handling injuries, the effective eradication of silicate dust pollution (produced when cutting concrete kerbs) which can significantly improve safety for workers, and faster installation resulting in less time spent live on highways.

Commenting on the agreement, Phil Sutton, founder of Duraproducts, said, “We are delighted to be entering into this sole distribution agreement with TCS Geotechnics. The company has an outstanding track record in successfully selling other similar products, so we have no doubt that they are a great fit for Durakerb. Their company ethos is in-line with ours too; as businesses, we are both heavily focused on sustainability, and ensuring that the products we deliver are helping rather than hindering the environment.

“We truly believe that TCS is the right distributor for Durakerb and we are excited to see how they get the best out of the product. They have a fantastic sales team in place so we have no doubt that with their expertise onboard, we will be able to continue to build the commercial success of Durakerb over the coming months. Hopefully we will start to see more recycled polymer installations happening around the country, thereby saving more carbon in the process.”

Mark Maloney, director at TCS Geotechnics, added, “We are very proud to have been appointed the sole distributor for Durakerb. It’s a product that aligns well with our sustainability credentials alongside other products in our portfolio, and we have already had a great response from the industry in our first few weeks of working together.”
