CLARK Contracts has completed the £3 million transformation of the B-listed Paisley Arts Centre to create an upgraded performance venue and cultural hub for Renfrewshire Council.
The Paisley-based contractor created new back-of-house and performance facilities, improved sound and lighting, upgraded dressing rooms for artists, and enhanced workshop space for rehearsals and other events.
The main auditorium has been refurbished with new retractable seating to improve the audience experience and there is an expanded bar area.
The public space at the front of the building has also been redesigned, removing the railings and adding new paving and seating, while a small extension has been added to the entrance of the building.
The venue is now being operated by OneRen, a charity which provides culture, leisure, and sport services, and will host a year-round programme of music, comedy and theatre.
Michael Scanlan, director, Clark Contracts, said, “We are delighted to support the regeneration of Paisley with the extensive refurbishment of Paisley Arts Centre, to create this fantastic venue. We hope the local community and those visiting the town, enjoy the new facility for years to come.”
