Senior completes a hat-trick at nine-storey apartment building

THREE products from Senior Architectural Systems have helped to complete The Barnum – a new residential development on Nottingham’s Queen’s Road.

Designed by Franklin Ellis Architects and built by main contractor Graham Construction, the nine-storey building has been developed by Blockworks, a joint venture between Bloc Group and Network Rail. The project, described as one of the largest recent developments in the city, has been built on what was a vacant site next to Nottingham’s railway station.

The initiative has helped regenerate the wider area and provided a boost for the local rental market.

Senior collaborated with specialist installer Duplus Architectural Systems to specify three of its popular products, including the award-winning PURe window system which has been installed throughout the 345 apartments. The manufacturer said the solution produces ‘exceptionally low’ U-values thanks to a patented thermal design, and both tilt/turn and casement window styles have been used.

Safety and security at the development has been enhanced through the use of Senior’s  SPW501 aluminium commercial door. The thermally broken polyamide aluminium framing system isdescribed as ideal for busy environments and is available in multiple configurations and designs.

And on the ground floor communal areas, the façade design has been specified with Senior’s slimline SF52 aluminium curtain wall system.
