SPRINGFIELD has secured planning approval for 31 affordable homes in Aberlour, Speyside. This represents the second phase of development, following the approval of 39 affordable homes last year.
The site spans 4.8 acres and is located close to the A95. The homes will include one, two, four and five-bedroom homes, including bungalows.
Springfield said the ‘energy efficient, high-quality’ properties have been designed to fit in with the rural setting of the village. The wider development includes walking, jogging and cycle routes, a play area for children, and a stone feature wall at the entrance.
Tom Leggeat, Springfield MD for affordable housing, said, “The decision to give phase two of this development the green light represents brilliant news for local people and will allow us to build on the work we have already started as part of the first phase. We know that there is demand for high-quality, energy efficient homes in the area. The delivery of energy efficient homes will help address this local need, increasing good quality housing options for people looking to stay in this community.”
