BATHGATE-based CM Steel Buildings is delighted to announce two new boardroom appointments in Iain Whittington and Iain McNicol.
Iain Whittington, who has worked in the business for 13 years, is promoted from commercial manager to commercial director, while Iain McNicol, who joined the firm two years ago as contracts manager, becomes construction director.
The promotions follow a significant period of growth for the main contractor, which increased turnover from £14.5 million to £18.5 million in the last financial year.
The business, which turns 17 in November, specialises in all types of industrial and commercial buildings and has built up an impressive portfolio of projects, including the delivery of many car showrooms and industrial warehouses across Scotland. CM Steel Buildings typically carries out a main contractor role on a traditional and also on a design and build basis, delivering a range of services from the installation of the steel frame and cladding through to high-quality interior fit-out and external works.
The two Iain’s will join owner Chris McInnes in the senior leadership team as the company continues to grow and take on ever more challenging ventures.
Chris McInnes said, “I’m very pleased with how they have performed over the years and they’re very worthy of directorships. I’d been looking at future planning. After the pandemic, we decided to grow the business and take it to the next level. It’s been a very busy time. Bringing in jobs is one thing; executing them is another.
