Erskine youth football team nets support from local housebuilder

CALA Homes (West) has teamed up with an Erskine-based youth football team to provide new football kits.

The award-winning housebuilder, which is currently located at its Gilchrist Gardens development in the town, has sponsored Parkmoor FC 2014s, who play in the Paisley and Johnstone district league, helping them kickstart the season with brand-new strips.

The team which was established in 2019, trains twice a week, and plays seven-a-side games competitively every Saturday, with 35 players receiving new Cala-branded strips.

The sponsorship is part of the firm’s commitment to the local Renfrewshire community with its Erskine development, Gilchrist Gardens, not far from the football team’s grounds.

Gordon Baxter, coach at Parkmoor FC 2014s, said, “The team are thrilled with their new strips, they had been looking forward to the new season and this has just added to the excitement. We can’t thank Cala enough for supporting local, it has made a huge difference to team morale, we hope they’ll be able to come visit and watch some games this season.”

Suzanne McElhiney, sales and marketing director at Cala Homes (West), added, “We’ve been part of the Erskine community since 2020 when we first launched our Gilchrist Gardens development located just off Flourish Road. It remains incredibly important for us to support the local community where we can, and we recognise how valuable grassroots teams like Parkmoor FC are to children within the local area. We are delighted to be the new football kit sponsor and we hope the teams have a successful rest of the season.”
