THE judging panel has been announced for the Scottish Design Awards 2024.
Each judge will be tasked with assessing the best architecture and design projects of the past 12 months. Entries are now open for the event, with early birds enjoying discounted rates until March 8.
The judging panel line-up includes Richard Pearson, creative director at Dentsu Manchester. He said, “There is, of course, all of the essential elements of design that I will be looking out for. Craft, beauty, use, insight and a certain uniqueness. But the thing that is absolutely key for me with all great design is how people interact with it, does it connect with the world, does it bring excitement, wonder and joy.”
The panel also includes PAD Studio founder and design director Wendy Perring. She added, “I will be looking for innovative designs with strong narrative qualities that minimise their environmental impact and promote sustainability. I will look for designs that integrate and enhance their settings, fostering a deeper understanding of the surrounding context.”
