Housebuilder’s donation will enhance outdoor space at Dargavel Primary

PUPILS at Dargavel Primary are set to enjoy new school play equipment thanks to a £1,000 donation from Stewart Milne Homes.

The housebuilder is supporting the purchase of outdoor play equipment and a sandpit after being inspired by primary one pupils who wrote to the local Stewart Milne Homes sales office, based in the new Dargavel Village development, asking for help to renovate the school garden.

Impressed by the pupil’s proactiveness and touched by their handwritten letter, Stewart Milne Homes was more than happy to support the school. A cheque was presented at a recent school assembly.

Headteacher Mr Carlton said, “We are thrilled to receive this generous donation from Stewart Milne Homes. The new equipment will be a fantastic addition to our outdoor space that I’m sure will be much-loved by pupils at break and lunch times.”

Stewart Milne Homes has supported a number of schools across Scotland this year in its dedicated Eco Gardens initiative.

Rossanna MacDonald, sales consultant at Stewart Milne Homes Dargavel Village, added, “We were touched to receive a handwritten letter from primary one pupils as they so eagerly want to enhance their garden space. Our sales office is located directly opposite from Dargavel Primary School so we are looking forward to see lots of smiling faces when their new play equipment arrives and we look forward to supporting the school in the future.”

Stewart Milne Homes launched its third phase of homes at the nearby Dargavel Village development in summer 2023, along with two new show homes.
