FRESH from winning a category award for ‘Partitioning’, and the national ‘Project of the Year’ prize at the Finishes and Interiors (FIS) 2023 Contractors National Awards in June, Indeglås is celebrating again after picking up a further two accolades at this year’s Scottish FIS Awards for ‘Specialist Installation – over £1m’ and Scottish ‘Project of the Year’.
Both awards are for the firm’s work at University of Glasgow’s ARC Building, designed by HOK International and constructed by Multiplex.
The FIS Judges said, “Indeglås achieved a very high level of quality and consistency throughout the installation; glazing is used to great effect in the central atrium with the spandrel panel detail and accuracy marrying with the vast glazed panels above and below. In addition to the atrium, there are five floors of glazed acoustic room environments with some fabulously designed vinyl graphics. Along with highly rated fire screens, this all conspires to meet the architect’s design and flow of light throughout the building.
“Indeglås exhibits an admirable level of detail and knowledge in their bespoke glazed solution. We were greatly impressed by their interaction with Multiplex, the design team and the GGF to ensure that the bespoke material specification and installation methods were 100%. A first class and professionally delivered project by all involved.”
Indeglås MD Jeanette MacIntyre said, “The award ‘Project of the Year’ is particularly significant. The acknowledgement that our team achieved project outcomes beyond expectations – most notably in the areas of promoting collaborative working and wellbeing amongst users – was very special.
“We want to make the places we work, study, and heal the most complimentary to productivity and wellbeing possible. Winning this award is great acknowledgment of that, and a moment I will treasure for an awfully long time.”
