St Andrews Timber and Building Supplies has announced the launch of a new landscaping division as part of a £1 million expansion.
The firm serves both trade and retail customers from four locations in Edinburgh, Livingston and Paisley with over 100,000 building and timber products in stock.
It will now add garden landscaping to its list of offerings thanks to the seven-figure investment – the largest since the company was founded in 2002.
St Andrews employs more than 100 people and said it aims to create up to 20 new jobs over the next year on the back of the expansion, which will see St Andrews Landscaping sit within the current company structure.
“This is certainly a very exciting development for the company,” explained MD Ronnie Robinson. “We are always looking to offer more to our customers whenever we can. We pride ourselves on offering unrivalled service and support to customers and with this new division of the business, there is going to be even more available to them.
“Our aim is to ultimately be a one-stop shop for customers, from the timber and building side of things to insulation and now garden rooms and landscaping.”
The flagship landscaping showroom will be based at the firm’s four-acre facility in Livingston, which opened eight months ago. Displays will include stone walling, natural sandstone, porcelain, fencing, artificial turf, timber, glass, artificial balustrades and decorative chips.
“To provide a full service to customers, we have recruited a lot of new talent with expertise specifically in the landscaping area, while also upskilling current members of staff by putting them through training courses so they have a good basic knowledge of what is required,” Mr Robinson added. “It’s exciting to now be able to, for example, kit out an entire house and then come back and do the landscaping side of things from decking, patios and artificial turf.
“We want to be in a position to service our customer base, no matter what they might be looking at doing. Times have been difficult recently but to still be moving forward is encouraging for us and testimony to the hard work put in by everyone.”
The official launch of the landscape divisions in Livingston and Paisley will be marked by family-focused open days next month.
