GLASGOW-based commercial and domestic electrical specialist A Alexander Group has announced the appointment of four new electrical apprentices.

Bailey McCartney, Tony Crawford, Lucas McShane and Aedan Crumlish have joined the company’s apprenticeship programme and will attend Glasgow Clyde College’s Cardonald campus on a block release basis for the duration of their training.

The business said they will spend their time gaining experience on commercial projects and small works maintenance divisions.

The apprenticeship programme lasts between three and five years depending on the candidate’s progress.

Stewart Alexander, MD of A Alexander Group, said, “I started as an apprentice electrician and vividly remember my first day filled with excitement and nerves. The programme provides regular assessment and is a great opportunity to get started on a solid career pathway and I’m sure the boys will do well.

“We are committed to developing our apprenticeship programme to ensure we are galvanising future talent, and each year look to take on around 12 people across our different divisions. We are proud that so many of our current staff completed an apprenticeship with the company.”
