HOUSEBUILDER Dandara is donating £250 worth of energy bars to those taking part in the Midlothian Walk of Hope.
The 5km walk starts at 4:15 am on May 7 at Shawfair Park and Ride and will raise money for Chris’s House. The charity was founded by Wishaw mum, Anne Rowan, who lost her son Chris to suicide in 2011 at the age of 36.
Anne Rowan said, “The walk begins early while the sky is still dark and finishes as dawn breaks to remind people that no matter what, there is always hope. We are so grateful to Dandara and our other sponsors for supporting this very important initiative.”
Lisa Archibald, head of sales at Dandara East Scotland, which has a development of new homes at Shawfair, added, “The Walk of Hope is such a great idea, and I am sure will be very well attended by local people including some of our new homeowners. The walk will raise valuable funds for the charity, which does so much good work helping those who are suffering from mental ill health and their families. With such an early start I am sure the energy bars will be very welcome when they are handed out!”
