McConnell ramps up growth plans with opening of new East Kilbride base

MCCONNELL, previously known as Hugh LS McConnell or McConnell Roofing, has announced it is relaunching the ‘McConnell’ brand and has opened a new office in East Kilbride.

Kilmarnock-headquartered McConnell, founded in 1929, is a provider of external refurbishment, modernisation and planned maintenance services to buildings.

Following the success of recent principal contractor wins and to coincide with its relaunch, McConnell revealed it is making moves that were originally delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The company’s additional office is based in the Scottish Enterprise Technology Park in East Kilbride. It will provide a base for up to 30 extra staff, future-proofing plans for further growth. The new office will house McConnell’s refurbishment & cladding divisions along with support functions, including business development & bid support, estimating, SHEQ, and customer care.

McConnell has also expanded its presence in the southern region, with the opening of a new Dartford office in addition to its existing office in Camberley, Surrey.

MD Eamonn McGarvey said, “The additional office in East Kilbride is great. It is an important addition to our portfolio for our growing refurbishment & cladding divisions that has gained real momentum in terms of principal contracting, enabling us to build on and plan for the future.

“With such strong historical links in Ayrshire, the company will retain our Kilmarnock head office and base. Having this additional office close to the central belt will be significant to the future plans of the business and in supporting our ever-growing client base within a number of market sectors.”
