A Taylor Wimpey East Scotland team has participated in the housebuilder’s annual challenge to hike through the Peak District to raise money for charity.

In total, 33 teams took part from across the UK with over £116,000 raised. The team from Taylor Wimpey East Scotland raised over £6,000 and donated £1,540 to Maggie’s Fife in Kirkcaldy, £1,540 to 23rd Fife Leven Scout Group, and just over £3,000 for the Youth Adventure Trust.

Members took part in a two-day challenge which saw them build their own shelter before trekking 26 miles through the mountains of the Peak District.

Samantha Thirlwall for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland, and member of the fundraising team who completed the challenge, said, “Without a doubt, this was one of the toughest Taylor Wimpey Challenges so far, but the sense of team spirit in both of our teams from East Scotland was incredible from beginning to end.

“It’s been a real test of endurance and teamwork, but the money we have raised for Maggie’s Fife, the 23rd Fife Leven Scout Group and the Youth Adventure Trust has made it all so worthwhile. It’s always fantastic to see so many colleagues getting into the spirit of this event and having fun, all while raising much-needed funds for really worthy causes.”
