Construction underway to deliver luxury homes on former Glasgow school site

CONSTRUCTION is underway on a new housing project at the site of the former Calderwood Lodge Primary School in Glasgow’s south side.

Overlooking Newlands Park, the school closed in 2017 and has since been purchased by CCG Homes. The developer received planning permission to build 20 luxury homes earlier this year.

Demolition of a former two-storey classroom block has already been completed, with works ongoing to a Victorian sandstone villa that will be conserved and upgraded to form part of the new Calderwood Lodge project.

Four two and three-bedroom apartments will be contained within the sandstone villa, with a further 15 two and three-bedroom new build apartments – including two penthouses – constructed alongside a three-bedroom mews house. Landscaped communal gardens and private parking will also be provided.

CCG Homes MD, Calum Murray, said, “This is a big milestone for CCG Homes. Calderwood Lodge is an incredibly exciting project and the works undertaken to date have already remarkable transformation of the site at street level. Formal construction works will now be undertaken by CCG (Scotland) with the restoration of the Victorian villa and the new build construction of the new homes each forming a truly unique offering to be part of Glasgow’s heritage in one of the city’s most sought-after postcodes.

“We have received an incredible amount of sales interest in the development and we will aim to have updates on a formal sales launch communicated to prospective purchasers before the end of this year.”
