THE JR Group has been appointed to construct 31 high-specification flats in Ayr on behalf of Ayrshire Housing.
The properties will be located in the town centre across from the Gaiety Theatre and have been tipped to complement the transformation of the adjacent Kyle Centre into a cinema and leisure hub.
The development will comprise 22 one-bedroom flats and nine two-bedroom flats, with completion due for spring 2023.
The deal marks the first time The JR Group has worked with Ayrshire Housing. Gary McGregor, MD at The JR Group, said, “It is great to have won the contract to take this exciting new project forward. This marks our first project we will deliver for Ayrshire Housing, and we’re delighted to be working together. We look forward to developing a successful working relationship with them.”
Jim Whiston, director at Ayrshire Housing, added, “This development, designed by Ayr based ARPL Architects will increase the range of housing in the town centre with its focus on accessibility and adaptability. It also supports South Ayrshire Council’s ambitious plans to revitalise the town centre.”
