NEW research has revealed how many hometown properties some of the best paid English Premier League footballers could afford to buy with their annual salary.

Manchester City’s Jack Grealish, who the club recently signed for £100 million, topped the list – with his £15.6 million salary allowing for the potential purchase of 76 Birmingham homes.

The research was carried out by Keller Williams UK based on salary figures reported by Sportrac, with the estate agent saying it comes following the trend in footballers investing in property to secure their financial future after the end of their playing days.

Harry Kane, who was subject of a £100 million bid from Manchester City, was fourth last on the list. The England captain, who was born in London, would ‘only’ obtain 21 properties in the capital with his £10.4 million salary.

Second and third on the list is Liverpool’s Jordan Henderson and Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford respectively. The Red’s captain could buy 57 properties in Sunderland with his £7.2 million salary, whilst Rashford’s £10.4 million salary would bag him 53 Manchester homes.
