AKP has appointed Martin McColl as managing director with immediate effect, succeeding founding partner Ian McEwan who is taking on the role of CEO.
The business, which turns 30 this year, announced it has secured a raft of new business wins as it emerges from the Covid-19 lockdown period.
With almost 30 years’ experience within the industry, Martin McColl holds construction management, health & safety and building services engineering qualifications.
Ian McEwan said, “I congratulate Martin on his newly promoted managing director role. His exceptional attributes exemplify akp’s core values while delivering results for our clients by guiding them through these times of unprecedented disruption. I look forward to him leading the team to new levels, whilst bringing a valuable fresh perspective to our business improvement agenda and I wish him every success in the next phase of his career at akp.”
Martin McColl added, “I’m both delighted and excited to have been afforded this opportunity by Ian, to lead a company with a strong ethos surrounding project delivery, quality, health & safety and communication. I’m also pleased to share that, despite the challenging times, we’ve had a strong start to our financial year with circa £5 million of contract wins in the first quarter and an order book that will keep us on this same track for the remainder of 2020-21.
“There is no doubt that the health crisis we are experiencing is unprecedented and we shall hopefully never have to endure this again in our lifetimes. And so, we now need to focus, get our heads down, work hard and rebuild those industries that have been affected and the construction industry is one of those.”
