Competition helps housebuilder fly the flag in Monifieth

TAYLOR Wimpey East Scotland recently challenged youngsters living within its Victoria Grange development in Monifieth to design a welcome flag for the site.

The winning design by Kamden Zimny (12) now flies at the entrance to the development. As well as the opportunity to see his design flying high, Kamden also won a £50 shopping voucher.

The competition ran throughout the month of May when children were being home-schooled. Anne Marie Close, sales executive at Victoria Grange explained, “The weeks of lockdown were undoubtedly challenging for families right across Scotland, and we hope that giving some of our young residents the opportunity to work with us to design a flag to welcome new visitors to their development was an unusual task that kept them busy for a while. From the designs that we received, the children seemed to have enjoyed tackling their brief to create a bold and colourful design.

“We are absolutely delighted with the winning design by Kamden, which now flies every day and provides a cheerful welcome to homeowners and new visitors to the development.”

Kirsty McGill, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey East Scotland added, “Being part of the local communities in which we build our new homes is very important to us. Our fun flag design project acknowledges a sense of community and involvement that we are incredibly proud of at Victoria Grange, and we are sure that Kamden, his family and friends all feel the same way too.”
